Quora: “What do you like the most about a DeLorean car?”

As a friend once said, ‘The DeLorean isn’t a speed machine, and it’s not a time machine – but it IS a smile machine.’ What I like most about owning and driving a DeLorean is how happy it makes people. I’ve only owned #10515 since November 2015, but just about every time I drive it – to get gas, car shows, meeting friends for dinner – people always comment about the car, take photos, and are usually smiling. 99% of that comes from the Back to the Future …

Reselling billboards in Google Maps

I spend waaay too much time in Google Maps. I love it. Part of it is the history aspect. Part is the technology aspect. Quora: “How did Walt Disney help his community?”

“His community” is pretty ambiguous. HIS community would be one of elite artists and businessmen. If the question is actually ‘How did Walt Disney help people?’, that’s an easier answer: Walt Disney helped tens of thousands of people (after he and Roy successfully started the Disney Studios) by creating hundreds of jobs within the Disney Studios. Those artists, engineers, and staffers did not have the creative and technical jobs we have today. He also helped the people by erecting his own buildings. His work (and those of his …

Goodbye Top-Left Click

Well, with Google Chrome‘s recent material redesign (Build 69), one of the most odd mouse shortcuts that I have used since ~1995 has gone away… that is/was the ability to close a window by double-clicking on the top-left corner of the window. And since a large majority of my time on the computer is spent in Google Chrome, it’s a noticeable change.   I just updated to Chrome 69, and a dozen times now I’ve tried clicking on that corner to close windows, but now it only resizes …
