First, the only person/people who could give a REAL answer, is Ub, or people close to him that he confided in. Anyone else – even “Disney historians” are full of hot air if they pretend to know what Ub thought. (OR, if there are credible documents in Ub’s own handwriting that clearly spell it out.) Interesting question, but no. Tesla has built over 100,000 vehicles so far, with many more coming. DeLorean Motor Company only built 9,080 DMC-12s. Also, John DeLorean didn’t have the amount of money that Musk had/has.   Original Quora question – Is it possible that Tesla will eventually be regarded as the DeLorean of this period of automotive history?

I’m always sad and bothered by these “What would Walt think/do…” questions. *MAYBE* people who worked CLOSELY with Walt back in the day could *POSSIBLY* give an acceptable answer on his behalf, but those people are, for the most part, gone. During the 50th anniversary celebrations, I attended a cast-member only panel which featured several original Imagineers telling stories and answering questions. This question – “What was it like to work with Walt Disney?” – was asked and answered. My favorite answer was this (I’m sorry that I don’t recall which imagineer gave the response): ‘We learned that you never told Walt “no”, you always said “yes, if”.
